👥 Supporting Someone Else

If you're with someone in crisis:

  • Stay with them — don't leave them alone
  • Say: "I'm here. You're not alone."
  • Say: "Let's call 988 together."
  • Help them remove access to means if safe to do so
  • Call 911 if they are in immediate physical danger

If You Don't Know What to Say — Start Here

→ "I'm not safe right now."
→ "I'm thinking about hurting myself."
→ "I need someone to stay with me while I get help."
→ "Can you help me make a plan for the next hour?"

Safe Next Steps (If Not in Immediate Danger)

  • 01 Contact a trusted person and tell them you need support today.
  • 02 Remove or secure access to anything that could be used to cause harm.
  • 03 Schedule an appointment with a clinician or primary care provider.
  • 04 Consider a peer support group or structured program for ongoing stability.

When you're ready, GPP can help with the next step — structured programs that support regulation, transition, prevention, and purpose-driven service.
